How cancellations and refunds work for ProofAware paid plans. Payments and refunds are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
TODO (LEGAL): This Refund Policy is a placeholder drafted for Paddle onboarding and domain verification. It must be reviewed and approved by qualified legal counsel before the public production launch, and must be consistent with Paddle's buyer terms and applicable consumer law.
This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for ProofAware paid plans (the managed Cloud subscription, self-host licence keys, and premium course packs). The free, self-hosted Community Edition involves no payment and is not covered here.
Payments for ProofAware paid plans are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record. Refunds are issued through Paddle and are subject to Paddle's buyer terms in addition to this policy.
TODO (LEGAL): Confirm the correct Paddle entity name and link to Paddle's current buyer terms / refund process.
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account or via the management link on your Paddle receipt. When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current paid billing period, and it will not renew afterwards. Cancelling does not automatically trigger a refund for the current period unless stated below or required by law.
TODO (NUMBERS / LEGAL): Define the refund window and conditions, for example: a money-back period for first-time subscriptions (e.g. TODO days), whether monthly renewals are refundable, and the treatment of annual plans. Confirm the final policy with counsel.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may have a statutory right of withdrawal for distance purchases. Where you expressly request that a digital service begins immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once it has been fully performed, that statutory right may no longer apply.
TODO (LEGAL): Insert the correct consumer withdrawal notice and confirm how it interacts with immediate provision of a digital service.
TODO (LEGAL): State whether one-off purchases such as premium course packs or self-host licence keys are refundable, and under what conditions (for example, non-refundable once a licence key has been issued or content has been accessed).
To request a refund, contact us at hello@proofaware.com with your Paddle order or receipt reference, or use the support link on your Paddle receipt. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method by Paddle.
TODO (NUMBERS): Add the typical processing time for approved refunds.
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
